An aspirant for the Lagos State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress, APC, Temitope Adewale, has tasked youths across the 57 Local Government in Lagos and in general, to play a more active role in politics ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Temitope who made this disclosure during his visit to his ward in Ifako-Ijaiye local government of Lagos state, said youths deserve better in a democracy and the only way they can get that is by participating more in politics.
He said, “The truth is that the potentials in the youths are not maximised to the fullest. The youths have got a lot they can offer the country. Therefore, there is a need for them to participate more in politics. You should be vibrant in your various wards and be ready to speak truth to power.
“The way to achieve this is by voting for the right people who will put your interest first. Go and register and get your Permanent Voters’ Card, PVC. That is your power. With that, you can determine your future.”
Temitope commended the good works of Governor Ambode in the state and urged Lagosians to give the governor the needed support in the forthcoming elections.
“Akinwunmi Ambode is a man of the people and I need to commend him for his many giant strides in making the lives of Lagosians better. I can assure you that this is just the beginning. I urge you all to support him as he has a lot more to offer the state.”
He also spoke of his admiration for the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he described as a great hunter and developer of talents.
