Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has commended the World Assembly of Muslim Youths (WAMY) for organising a week-long free medical outreach expected to provide surgeries and other medical services to about 1,500 patients in the state.
The statement being signed by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser (Media and Publicity) to the Kebbi State Governor, stated that the outreach is being organised by WAMY in collaboration with the Nasara Foundation and the Kebbi State Government.
Governor Commends Medical Intervention
Governor Idris gave the commendation while receiving the WAMY medical team at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.
He said the initiative would provide important medical and surgical services to residents, particularly people who may not be able to afford specialised healthcare.
The governor also assured WAMY of the state government’s continued support and partnership in humanitarian and healthcare interventions.
Idris expressed appreciation to WAMY, the Nasara Foundation and the medical team for their humanitarian service to residents of Kebbi State.
Over 30 Specialists to Participate
Earlier, WAMY Executive Director, Hisham Muhammad, said more than 30 medical specialists from different parts of the world were taking part in the outreach.
According to him, about 1,500 patients are expected to benefit from free surgeries and other medical services during the programme.
The medical team, led by Dr. Abdul Latif Barnawi, will focus mainly on general surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics, and paediatric surgery.
The week-long intervention is expected to give residents access to specialist medical care and surgical services at no cost.
The outreach is part of WAMY’s humanitarian efforts in collaboration with local partners and the Kebbi State Government to support people requiring medical attention.
