In a decisive move to stabilize the nation’s socio-economic landscape, the Federal Government and international partners have converged to address the root causes of insecurity and economic instability, identifying the elimination of national vulnerabilities as the primary catalyst for progress.
A Unified Humanitarian Front
At a high-level national technical workshop held in Abuja, stakeholders from the United Nations Sexual and Reproductive Health Agency (UNFPA), the Federal Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs gathered to design proactive frameworks for crisis management. The collaboration emphasizes that Nigeria’s path to development is strictly tied to how effectively it protects its most at-risk populations.
The discussions focused on transitioning from reactive aid to comprehensive, long-term strategies that tackle the systemic triggers of displacement and financial hardship.
The OHOPRS Initiative
Central to the workshop was the unveiling of the “One Humanitarian-One Poverty Response System” (OHOPRS). This initiative aims to streamline aid and economic interventions into a single, cohesive engine for social mobility.
