The Enugu State Government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Nigeria have entered a strategic partnership to advance development across key sectors.
The partnership was formalized today with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the #IntegratedSmartStateProgramme.
“This partnership will accelerate progress across healthcare, education, energy access, tourism, trade and digital innovation, transforming opportunity into real impact,” stated Ms. Elsie G. Attafuah, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nigeria.
The collaboration is designed to leverage Enugu State’s economic and cultural assets. “State by state, Nigeria never fails to surprise me,” Ms. Attafuah added, noting Enugu’s potential as a hub for talent, culture, and competitiveness.
UNDP Nigeria extended appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Peter N. Mbah, and the Enugu State Government for the partnership. The programme aims to position Enugu as a subnational model for tangible results in livelihoods, job creation, and long-term socio-economic resilience.
Today’s signing initiates the implementation phase through three specific instruments.
