The 2016 Internet Freedom Forum (IFF) will commence tomorrow and we are wishing all delegates who have arrived and those on their way a fruitful deliberation at the forum.
IFF is without doubt a great platform to project the musing of the internet-savvy who crave for an internet free Africa. Here are ten things you need to know about the forum.
- The forum will hold for two days, starting from tomorrow 8th and ends on 9th March 2016
- It will take place at the Chelsea Hotel, Central Area, Abuja
- Over 30 speakers will be on ground to talk on Digital Rights, and Freedom Bill, need for African countries to codify citizens right online among other internet related issues
- The keynote address will be delivered by Nani Jansen, the Legal Director of the Media Legal Defence Initiative (MLDI)
- The theme for this year’s forum is ‘rights are rights. Online or offline’
- The pan-African event will host delegates from not less than 10 African countries
- The Senate President Bukola Saraki is expected to give an address at the forum
- The IFF is one of the biggest events to network in Africa
- IFF is hosted by Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (PIN)
