The Commandant General, (CG) Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ (NSCDC), Abdullahi Gana Mohammed, has directed the Katsina state Commandant of the Corps, Ahmed Muazu, to synergize with the Military, Police and other Security Agencies in the State to rev up additional personnel to the affected areas of the State.
This is in reprisal to the incessant and disturbing trend of armed banditry and cattle rustling in some parts of the country especially Katsina state.
The CG gave the directives at the National Headquarters of the Corps where he summoned Muazu for security report in last quarter of the year under review in the State.
The CG added that the order was in addition to the already deployed personnel for this purpose as well as those already deployed for operation ‘Sharan Daji’ in the State.
He reiterated some of the Corps’ mandate saying “Protection of Critical National Assets and infrastructure, Registration, Licensing, Monitoring and Supervision of Private Guard Companies as well as disaster Management among others must be pursued with vigor.
He however, added that in times like this, the need to collaborate with sister Security Agencies to make sure there is peace in the country remains paramount and cannot be overemphasized.
He promised to send additional equipment and logistics to the Katsina State Command to boost its operations, and advised members of the public to be law abiding and report any suspicious movement to Security Agencies.
