NIPCO Plc, has appointed Suresh Kumar as Managing Director of the organisation.
The appointment takes effect from February 1, 2020 as he replaced Sanjay Teotia who is now the managing director, NIPCO Gas Ltd.
NIPCO announced that Kumar will be working with the mandate to drive NIPCO’s operations and expansion moves across the country with a view to properly harnessing its potentials in the gas sector.
Kumar has been a very key member of NIPCO’s top management and leadership for about 15years, serving as immediate past chief operating officer overseeing the entire terminal operations and ancillary activities including interface with relevant government agencies in the industry.
Ruminating on his appointment, Suresh pledged to run an open administration with top notch management of resources in the overall interest of stakeholders.
He praised the sagacity of the outgoing MD, Sanjay describing him as an industry guru whose wealth of experience would definitely give the company an additional fillip in the hydrocarbon realm
Also appointed into the executive management cadre in the company is Roka Chiranjibi who doubles as the chief operating officer as well as chief finance officer.
NIPCO had in 2009 inaugurated several compressed natural gas infrastructure to facilitate switch to gas as auto fuel for motorist and other end users in the city of Benin and other parts of the country with gas pipelines.
The company is also poised to collaborate with recently inaugurated National Gas Expansion Committee Programme headed by Mr Mohammed Ibrahim for gas
sector optimal performance and utilization of the massive gas resources in the country
