With the intention and aim to empower people in the country, Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI), a Non-Governmental Organization located in Osogbo, Osun State has organised a day capacity development workshop for unemployed graduates and those that want to venture into business in the state.
The workshop that brought fresh graduates and Corps members at the training together was aimed at enlightening and empowering the unemployed graduates.
The first session of the workshop was anchored by Ayodele Ojo, the Territory Sales Manager, West Regions, Airtel Nigeria on the topic “Why you need a personal vision, mission, passion, a good self-esteem and a self of identity”.
Ojo also spoke on time management and how essential it is to know the dynamics of writing application letter and curriculum vitae.
He emphasized three important things that are essential for personal vision, mission and passion which are “Knowledge, Skills and Attitude (KSA)”.
He stressed further that it is necessary to have a clear vision and mission and it should be achievable vision and mission.
Ojo ended his session by stating the theory of two pens, “it is important to have two pens in the pocket when going in for the day’s activity so that when one fails, you can go for the other one” he said.
The General Manager of Startimes, Osogbo Branch, Mrs Titilope Adewara spoke on Etiquette – Fitting into Corporate Environment
Adewara expanciated what office etiquette means and the code of conduct that you are expected to live by in any corporate organisation.
She emphasized the importance of etiquette as it brings peace and order in any corporate world.
“It is essential to live by the office etiquette”, she retorted.
The last session was taken by Adebola Olasunkanmi of Abiola and Partners an auditing firm based in Osogbo.
She talked extensively on CV packaging and the do’s and don’ts of CV.
Olasunkanmi discouraged the act of lying in a CV because it gets people disqualified at the point of interview when they cannot defend it.
The participants lauded KDI for organising the workshop and solicited for for continuity of the workshop in order to enhance the knowledge of the unemployed graduates.
The workshop coordinator, Bukola Idowu rounded off the programme and appreciated all the participants and facilitators that participated in the workshop.
