Butchers making use of a section of Lekki Beach as abattoir were yesterday warned of danger posed by their action to patrons of the beach.
Executive Secretary of Eti – Osa Local Government, Alaba Ajayi while monitoring today’s weekly Environmental Sanitation exercise in markets, described the abattoir as an eye – sore.
Our Reporter, Femi Afolayan said apart from the unsanitary condition of the abattoir, the cruelty being meted out to the goats before slaughtering left much to be desired.
The Deputy Executive Secretary of the Council, Adeola Adetoro, while speaking on the sideline, advised the butchers on the need to be kind to the animals before being slaughtered.
