The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) on Tuesday convened a high-level post-election retreat at the Dover Hotel, Ikeja, to conduct a comprehensive review of the 2025 Local Government and Local Council Development Area (LCDA) elections.

The retreat, themed “From Execution to Evaluation: Building a More Resilient Electoral Process for Lagos State,” served as a strategic forum for Commissioners, Directors, and Electoral Officers to analyze the successes and challenges of the recent polls.
LASIEC Chairman, Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile (rtd.), in her keynote address, emphasized that the credibility of any election depends on an institution’s willingness to undergo honest self-assessment. “Credible elections extend beyond effective execution to thorough evaluation,” she stated, urging officials to prioritize accountability and innovation to ensure the system remains responsive to the needs of Lagosians.
Supporting this vision, the Supervising Commissioner and Chairman of the Election Training Committee, Hon. Oladele Adekanye, described the retreat as a vital platform for constructive feedback. He reaffirmed the Commission’s dedication to improving operational efficiency and strengthening stakeholder engagement ahead of future exercises of elections in Lagos State.
