Lagos State Government has approved the release of four hundred and thirteen million one hundred and four thousand five hundred and fifty six naira twelve kobo, for outstanding bursaries and Local Scholarship payments to indigenes of the state, studying in various tertiary institutions across the country.
Director, Lagos State Scholarship Board, Omauton Jegede, in a statement called on all categories of bursary and local scholarship beneficiaries to come to the board’s office.
Giving a breakdown of the payment, Jegede said the sum of Two Hundred and Twenty Two point Six Million Naira is to be paid as bursary for 2011/2012, 2013/14 beneficiaries.
She also disclosed that the sum of Eighty-Eight Point Nine Million naira had been approved for Four Hundred successful candidates who took part in the 2014/2015 Local Scholarship Computer Based Test.
She further added that the Governor has also approved the payment of Ninety-Nine Million Five Hundred and Sixty-Five Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty Naira, to Four hundred and Eighty-Six old beneficiaries.
Jegede explained that the board has commenced documentation exercise for local scholarship beneficiaries from Friday, August 14, 2015, while bursary documentation has also begun on Monday, August 17, 2015.
