Lagos inaugurates accident and emergency centre

The Lagos State Government yesterday inaugurated the accident and emergency centre in Ikorodu General Hospital, as well as the rehabilitated Agbala Paedriatics Centre.

The accident and emergency centre was built, equipped and handed over to the gorvernment by Heineken Africa Foundation in conjunction with the Nigerian Breweries PLC.

The Deputy Gorvernor, Dr Oluranti Adebule said the projects served as a major boost in the capacity to deliver quality healthcare to children and people in the area

The Deputy-Governor urged the team of health professionals, community leaders and other stake holder in the community to take advantage of the facilities and implored them to preserve them .

The deputy Governor noted that with such public\private partnership, government’s quest to attain global best practices in healthcare delivery would be achieved.

Speaking ealier, permanent secretary ministry of health, Modele Osunkiyesi, said the facility would go a long way in making quality health care delivery accessible to the people of Ikorodu.

She said it would complement the facilities at the Ikorodu general hospital.

While handing over the facilities, the human resources Director of Nigeria Breweries, Victor Famuyibo said the company was pleased to partner with the gorvernment and contribute towards the development of the society at large.
