The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released 279 previously withheld results from the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) following the conclusion of preliminary investigations into suspected cases of examination malpractice.
This is contained in a statement released by the JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, on Thursday, 21 May 2026.
According to the statement, the released results form part of the Board’s ongoing effort to uphold fairness, credibility, and integrity in the conduct of its examinations.
It explained that while some candidates were cleared after investigations found no prima facie evidence of malpractice, others had their results cancelled where sufficient evidence of wrongdoing was established.
JAMB noted that results from centres flagged for suspicious activities during live monitoring, as well as those that received adverse reports, remain withheld pending further review.
It added that where conclusive evidence of malpractice is eventually established, such results will be cancelled in line with its regulations.
The Board advised candidates whose results are yet to be released to check their status by sending “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used for registration.
JAMB reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the UTME process and ensuring that only candidates who comply with examination guidelines are cleared.
