Sequel to the just concluded presidential primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), renowned Pastor, Tunde Bakare, who contested alongside Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has said he was glad he did not trade his principles and beliefs after disgracefully losing out of the contest on Wednesday.
The cleric who told his congregation that he heard from God he will be the 16th president of the country did not get a single vote at the APC presidential primaries held in Abuja on Tuesday, June 7.
This has elicited several comments on social media. Many commended his courage while some on the other hand said they will always have regard for him despite having no votes.
But some were puzzled about his conviction that he would be the next president after President Mohammadu Buhari. They believe he never really heard from God as he claimed.
Bakare who is the lead pastor of Citadel Community Global Church is however indifferent.
In a social media post on Wednesday, June 8, he wrote, “I am happy I passed the test of character by not paying any delegate. I passed the test of courage by speaking the truth in the midst of wolves and the test of conviction by standing true to my beliefs. Those who will make a difference must be different.”
