A health technology startup, WellaHealth in collaboration with Kippa Africa is planning to provide health plans for 3,000 merchants in their network in a bid to reduce spending on tropical illness in Nigeria.

Wellahealth has stated the need to have more businesses to cater for healthcare especially small business owners, by partnering with Stanbic IBTC Bank, to offer quality and affordable healthcare to millions of Nigerians.

Speaking on the partnership at the weekend, the CEO of Wellahealth, Dr Ikpeme Neto, noted that the partnership will foster a stronger link between Kippa and Wellahealth in their quest to ensure Nigerians prioritise their health as they do their businesses.

“Wellahealth is partnering with Kippa in a partnership that would have over 500,000 SMEs with health plans that help them stand out with unique financial products targeting millions of Nigerians and reducing out-of-pocket spending on tropical illness,” Neto said

Also, WellaHealth’s Marketing and Communications Lead, Joseph Okoroafor, stated that, “As a health technology startup, working with a pan-African brand to bring healthcare to Kippa’s 5,000 agents is an important step towards bringing more persons under a formal health coverage thus reducing out-of-pocket and emergency health expenditure that may have been incurred by their businesses.”

“The Partnership also seeks to extend health coverage to Kippa’s 500,000 SMEs where they can access 3 months’ worth of health coverage for the price of one.”

On his part, the CEO of Kippa, Kennedy Ekezie, said: “Our core passion at Kippa lies in empowering business owners with all-encompassing support for their success. While enabling financial management is crucial, our pivotal mission is to be there for them when healthcare needs arise. This partnership represents our commitment to nurturing our merchants and their businesses with utmost care.”

WellaHealth remains focused on delivering value to its health plan subscribers, and the Kippa partnership is one of the ways the organization is living up to its promises to reach more Nigerians and have them take advantage of affordable health products.
