The Executive Governor of Zamfara state and Chairman Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Shattiman Mafara) was bitterly shocked over ugly criminal attacks particularly that of Birane village in Zurmi Local Government area.
Zamfara State Government has condemned attacks on its citizens in any part of the state by barbaric and unscrupulous criminal elements.
The governor has since directed all security agencies in the state to as a matter of urgency intensify more efforts in fighting and apprehending all forms of criminal activities in the state.
The government reiterates its commitment to the protection of the people’s lives and property and will not take it lightly with any person or group of people found to have hand in the dastardly actions.
The governor further stated that, the issue of insecurity has continued to deflect the meager resources meant for the development of our dear state, adding that , it is seriously retarding the effort of the state government, because without peace, meaningful development cannot be achieved.
Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, on behalf of himself, family and government of Zamfara State condoled with the families that lost their love ones and prayed Allah to grant them eternal rest and also wish wounded ones quick recovery.
While re-emphasising the need for all security agencies in the state to redouble effort for addressing the unwanted and ugly acts, the NGF Chairman said government and people of Zamfara would remain grateful to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari for deployment of more security personnels to the state.
Governor Yari therefore urged individuals, group and institutions to continue be vigilant and report any suspicious movement to the nearest security outfit for necessary action.
