The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the immediate disengagement of 43 personnel following investigations into various forms of professional misconduct. The disciplinary action targets officers involved in desertion, scandalous behavior, and patrol-related offenses.

According to a statement released on Thursday, the dismissals affect three specific categories of staff. A total of 31 personnel were terminated for desertion, five for scandalous behavior, and seven for misconduct during patrol duties.

Zero Tolerance for Indiscipline

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, described the move as a necessary step to maintain the integrity of the organization. He emphasized that the FRSC remains a professional paramilitary body guided by strict ethical standards.

“This action is a bold reaffirmation of the Corps’ zero-tolerance stance against indiscipline,” Mohammed stated. “The FRSC badge is a symbol of honor and responsibility. Any officer who violates the standards of this institution will face the full weight of our disciplinary machinery.”

Protecting Public Trust

The leadership of the FRSC noted that desertion is a grave breach of the service oath, especially for an agency tasked with protecting lives on Nigerian roads. Officials further explained that patrol misconduct directly undermines public confidence and contradicts the core values of transparency and excellence.

To prevent future occurrences, the FRSC plans to intensify internal monitoring and strengthen supervision across all commands nationwide. The agency remains committed to building a workforce driven by integrity and operational excellence.

Commitment to Road Safety

The Corps has urged the motoring public to remain confident in its operations. The management reassured Nigerians that it will continue to promote ethical reorientation among its staff to ensure safer roads for all citizens.
