The Federal Government has expressed its condolences to the government and people of Borno State following the devastating floods that have engulfed Maiduguri and surrounding areas due to the overflow of the Alau Dam.

A statement by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, read,”We are deeply saddened by the immense suffering of those affected,”
He added, “Our thoughts are with the victims, especially those who have lost their homes and means of livelihood. We stand in solidarity with displaced families, sharing in their grief during this difficult time.”
The Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is fully aware of the severity of the situation.
