President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration’s economic and security reforms are beginning to yield positive results, expressing confidence that the country is on the path to recovery and long-term stability.
Tinubu gave the assurance in his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, where he urged citizens to embrace sacrifice, unity, compassion, and national solidarity during the celebration.
In the statement released on Tuesday by the State House, the president congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, while thanking God for preserving lives to witness the celebration.
He said the festival reflects the virtues of faith, obedience, and sacrifice demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, urging Nigerians to show love and compassion to one another regardless of ethnic, religious, or social differences.
According to Tinubu, the country is currently undergoing a period of reconstruction and renewal through reforms his administration considers necessary for building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
The president acknowledged that the reforms have been difficult but maintained that they are already producing results, including improved economic stability and growing investor confidence.
He stated that the country has become a more attractive destination for investment, adding that the development would support job creation and economic growth.
Tinubu further declared that “the walk through the dark tunnel is over,” expressing optimism that ongoing reforms would continue to improve security and create more opportunities for Nigerians.
The president also addressed the security situation in parts of the country, noting that despite recent successes recorded by security agencies, including the elimination of a wanted ISIS leader, terrorists and bandits still pose threats to some communities.
He assured affected communities that the government remains committed to defeating criminal groups and restoring peace across the country.
Tinubu urged Muslims to use the Eid celebration to pray for Nigeria, its leaders, and peace in communities, while also encouraging citizens to support the less privileged and strengthen national unity.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development to fulfil the country’s potential.
The president concluded by wishing Nigerians a peaceful and joyful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying for Allah to accept the sacrifices and prayers of the faithful and continue to bless the nation.
