The Edo State Government has disclosed its readiness to assent the Open Government Partnership Action Plan with the aim of promoting good governance in the state.
This was disclosed by the Edo State Attorney General and commissioner for Justice, Professor Yinka Omorogbe at the Edo State Open Government Partnership, OGP, Post-Election stakeholders meeting held in Benin city.
Professor Omorogbe who’s also the Edo State OGP Government Co- chair, explained that efforts are ongoing to ensure the speedy assent to the state OGP action plan by Governor Godwin Obaseki before the expiration of his first tenure.
Obaseki will be sworn in for his second term in office on November 12, 2020.
Earlier in a remark, deputy director, ANEEJ, and Edo OGP non state actors, Co-chair, Mr Leo Atakpu said the the State Action plan settled for five commitment across four thematic areas which includes fiscal transparency, anti- corruption, access to information and citizens engagement among others.
Mr Atakpu appealed for the speedy assent of the OGP state action plan by the Edo state Government.
