The ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in the Alaba area in Ojo Local Government, Lagos State, was on Thursday reportedly disrupted by some thugs in the area.
The CVR exercise according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will end on the 30th of June – just 20 days left.
It is alleged that majority of the residents who came for the registration are traders at the popular Alaba International Market.
The Commission has provided 11 centres for rapid exercise but with the disruption on Thursday there is doubt prospective card owners may not be able to register if the disruption in the coming days.
According to some Twitter feeds monitored by this medium, the traders took the day off to register for their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) but the registration exercise at some of the centres by provided were invaded by thugs some in the area thereby forcing officials to suspend the process.
