The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has said Abuja, Lagos and some other cities and towns in Nigeria would experience a lunar eclipse on Monday, September 28.
In a statement signed by NASRDA’s Deputy Director of Media and Corporate Communications, Dr. Felix Ale, the lunar eclipse would begin by 1:11am (local time); and will be at its maximum by 3:47am, with its final contact by 6:22am.
Ale added that the lunar eclipse would be viewed across the country, especially in locations with the absence of cloud cover.
According to the agency, the lunar eclipse is an astronomical event that occurs when the earth comes in-between the sun and the moon; and the earth cast its shadow on the moon, so that the moon appear reddish.
