Aisha Yesufu’s personal twitter handle has been suspended by Twitter.
The restriction was placed on her account on the early hours of today (Thursday).
Yesufu has been a fervent critic of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The suspension of her account has attracted attentions from prominent social media users with many condemning the act by the social networking services.
Yesufu, reacting to the suspension in a video posted by Florence Ozor described herself as “more than a Twitter handle” adding that she would continue to speak about the incompetence of the President Buhari’s administration.
She said, “I am more than a Twitter handle. I am a voice and that voice will be heard loud and clear for as long as I live Insha Allah.
“The incompetence of Muhammadu Buhari. I will speak about for No Nigerian is more Nigerian than any Nigerian.”

Some of the reaction to the suspension of Yesufu’s account by Twitter.
Oby Ezekwesili said, “This is unjust @Twitter and every sensible Nigerian would tell you so. @AishaYesufu is the last person whose Voice should be shut down by Twitter. Do not unwittingly empower those who detest Citizens’ Voice that holds a government @NigeriaGov accountable. That’s all Aisha does.”
Akin Oke said, “In a bid to stop trolling and online harassment, Twitter has now begun to reduce the reach of abusive accounts. The social media site’s new vetting system temporarily restricts the tweets of abusive users, making them effectively invisible to those who don’t already follow.”
