President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Kigali ahead of the 13th edition of the Africa CEO Forum 2026, where he is expected to engage African leaders, global investors and top business executives on Nigeria’s economic reforms and regional development.
In a statement released on May 13, 2026, presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said President Tinubu would participate in high-level discussions and bilateral meetings with African and global business leaders during the summit.
The forum, scheduled to begin on Thursday, is regarded as one of Africa’s largest gatherings of private sector leaders, policymakers and investors focused on economic growth and cross-border partnerships.
President Tinubu was received at the Presidential Wing of the Kigali International Airport by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and Rwanda’s Minister of Defence, Juvenal Marizamunda.
Others present at the airport included the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed; Nigeria’s Chargé d’Affaires in Rwanda, Ambassador Ibrahim Zanna; and the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare.
Founded in 2012 by Jeune Afrique Media and co-hosted by International Finance Corporation (IFC), the Africa CEO Forum focuses on accelerating economic transformation through regional integration and increased investment across the continent.
This year’s edition is themed, “The Scale Imperative: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership.”
At the summit, President Tinubu is expected to speak on “Holding the Line: Nigeria’s Reform Bet in a Fractured World,” where he will highlight the impact of Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms.
The President is also expected to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to African unity, regional economic cooperation and private sector-driven sustainable development across the continent.
