President Bola Tinubu has directed the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, to present the Federal Government’s Reforms Scorecard to Nigerians.
The President made this known in a statement posted on Wednesday by the Presidency on its official X account.
Tinubu said the scorecard would give Nigerians an account of what the government’s reforms have achieved, what they have cost and the problems the measures were intended to prevent.
Tinubu: Nigerians Deserve to Know the Figures
Reflecting on the reforms introduced since 2023, Tinubu said the decisions were necessary to build an economy that would work better for Nigerians and strengthen the country for future generations.
“When we began this journey of reform in 2023, I promised that the difficult decisions we were making would serve the purpose of building an economy that works better for you and a country that is stronger for our children,” he said.
The President said he had asked Oyedele to explain the figures behind the reforms, the choices made by the administration, the progress recorded and the areas where more work is still required.
According to Tinubu, Nigerians deserve to understand how the reforms have affected their families, businesses and the wider economy.
“You deserve to see the numbers. You deserve to know what has changed and what these reforms mean for you, your family, your business and our country,” he said.
