The Committee For The Defence Of Human Rights, CDHR, Revolts the Looting of Funds by Government Officials

The Committee for the Defence of Human Rights staged a rally this morning, 16th of March 2016, at Ikeja to protest the looting of funds by politicians and also about the electricity situation in Nigeria.

The protesters, dressed in green t-shirts with raised placards called on the government to stop looting public funds and also to put the recovered funds to good use so as to improve sectors of the economy, especially the power generation sector.

While the rally went on, protesters sang names of politicians they considered corrupt and asked that they become accountable to the citizens.

One of the protesters, Achike Chudi, the Deputy chairman of the Joint Action Fund, JAF, referred to the citizens who came out to protest as the voice of the voiceless and the conscience of the nation.pbn

He lamented the poor state of electricity in Nigeria saying that he believes power supply would be steady in Nigeria if the government uses public funds properly.
