The All Progressive Congress, APC, in a fresh move to contain the crisis in the House of Representatives has directed former House Chairman House Committee on Appropriation Mr. Abdulmumin Jibrin to immediately stop distributing statements to the media on the budget padding scandal.

Mr. Jibrin alleged that Speaker of the House, Mr. Dogara, his deputy, Yusuf Lasun, House Whip, Alhassan Doguwa and Minority Leader, Leo Ogor attempted to smuggle up to N40 billion into the budget.
Recall that leaders of the party on Tuesday met with Jibrin to fashion out ways of resolving the issue.
However, the party in a fresh move to save the situation wrote Mr Jibrin to desist from issuing statements on the issue.
The letter signed by APC Deputy National Chairman for the Northern Zone reads in part: “As you are aware, the Party and indeed the Government have not been happy over recent developments in the House of Representatives over the issue of 2015 budget. We found it embarrassing to have to deal with another new phenomenon you tagged “budget padding,”
“Arising from the series of the meeting we held with you over the subject matter, the National Working Committee has decided you henceforth avoid issuing any public statement on this matter.”
The letter noted that the restriction “includes statements through social media or other means of transmitting an opinion on the matter to the public, as the party is now looking into it towards finding solution.”
