The Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) on Saturday issued certificates of Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) to four companies operating in Kano for meeting quality standards.
The companies are Abusaiba Blocks Investment Ltd., HGB Company Ltd., Hill of wealth investment Ltd. and Waterfalls Food and Beverages Ltd.
Mr Yahaya Bukar, the State Coordinator of the Kano/ Jigawa offices of SON Bukar said during the presentation of the MANCAP certificate in Kano that the award was in recognition of the companies’ adherence to quality in the production of their essential domestic products.
“The certificates are for quality and an indication that the companies have met the required standards in their production processes,’’ he said.
“Abusaiba Blocks Company is the first blocks company to have the SON logo.
“If you have SON logo on any products you are free to export it to other countries,” he said.
Bukar advised consumers to look out for SON logo before they buy any products in the market, adding that companies intending to register with SON should indicate their willingness through the official channel.
He urged the certified companies to continue to comply and maintain standard status of the quality of their products.
According to him, if their standards are lowered, SON can withdraw the certificates from them as quality is a continuous process.
