President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has finalized the first wave of ambassadorial postings, appointing envoys to four pivotal allied nations. The move follows the Senate’s confirmation of 68 ambassador-designates in December.
The newly assigned postings include two major diplomatic partners. Ambassador Ayodele Oke has been named ambassador-designate to France, while Colonel Lateef Are will serve as the ambassador-designate to the United States of America.
In a significant Commonwealth posting, Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, formerly Nigeria’s envoy to South Korea, has been appointed as the high commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.
This announcement also confirms the posting of Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, the former governor of Kebbi State, as the ambassador-designate to Turkey.
These four diplomats are part of a larger cohort of 68 envoys confirmed by the Senate in December. In a formal memo issued to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Tinubu directed officials to immediately notify the host governments of the appointments in line with standard diplomatic protocols.
