The revelation over the $16 billion scandal power project by Olusegun Obasanjo’s government seemed to be unending even as the controversy has endured since yesterday.
President Buhari again brought the project initiated between 1999 – 2007 into searchlight as he queried the impacts of the trillions of naira disbursed by the past governments under Peoples Democratic Party.
“Where was the power after a former president claimed to have spent $16 billion on the project?”
“You know the rail was killed and one of the former heads of state was bragging that he spent more than 15 billion American dollars on power. Where is the power? Where is the power?” he had said while he hosted yesterday in Abuja, some group of supporters towards his reelection come 2019.
Although, the former President Obasanjo being partially faulted for his governance, refuted any case of loot in the power by asking the president to go, read his book ‘My Watch’ where he made an explanation on it, a Nigerian human rights activist and lawyer, Festus Keyamo (SAN) has now made a clarification on the leadership of the alleged president in the scandal.
Keyamo explained that Obasanjo made an error to have appointed irresponsible fellows into the cabinet who ended up making the government worse off.
“The real greatest mistake that OBJ made as President was d appointment of some crackhead into his cabinet with the hope they would stop sniffing the stuff”, he stated.
“Apparently, that didn’t work, hence years later they’re still on the stuff and recalling things about President Buhari that never happened”, he noted.
Keyamo is presently the official spokesperson for Buhari’ s campaign for the 2019 presidential poll.
