Kaduna rail work is soon to commence, as the Federal Government has affirmed 1.2 billion US dollars for the development of the Kano-Kaduna railroad project.
Minister of Transport, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, unveiled this in Kano on Saturday when he went to Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje at the Government House, Kano.
Amaechi said that the Federal Government is consulting with China EXIM bank and the arrangement will end by June.
The minister said that the Federal Government would give around 100 trains to the rail project that would reach through Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt, Funtua and Gombe to enhance the economy.
“Prior to the end of June Lagos-Kano contract gauge rail would have more trains that would go through Lagos, Port Harcourt, Funtua, Kano and Gombe states keeping in mind the end goal to help the economy,” he said.
Amaechi, be that as it may, said thanks to the representative for his endeavors and the part he played amid the last National Assembly decision in Rivers where the gathering won one senatorial seat and four House of reps seats.
Reacting, Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje, communicated joy and praised the president for fulfilling his promise.
He said that Kano-Kaduna standard rail venture would spare the roads from dilapidating. He also made it known that the state government as of late marked a $1.8 billion Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chinese firm to develop light rail in the state capital. He said that the light rail venture would give a megacity viewpoint like other urban communities over the world.
