The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Enugu State Government have partnered to strengthen digital innovation through the operational lease of the NCC Digital Industrial Park and NCC Learning Centre in Enugu.
The agreement signing was witnessed by the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, Dr Aminu Maida, alongside members of the Commission’s Board and Management.
The partnership is expected to support digital inclusion, expand innovation opportunities and develop the skills required to drive Nigeria’s digital economy.
The NCC said the collaboration reflects its commitment to creating platforms that promote technology adoption and provide opportunities for young Nigerians to acquire digital skills.
The delegation also visited the Enugu Smart School Initiative, where technology is being integrated into teaching and learning to prepare students for future opportunities.
Digital Park to Drive Innovation
The NCC Digital Industrial Park and Learning Centre are expected to serve as key platforms for digital capacity building, innovation and technology development in Enugu State.
The facility will provide opportunities for individuals, businesses and technology stakeholders to access resources that support digital growth and entrepreneurship.
The NCC said the partnership with the Enugu State Government would help expand access to digital tools while strengthening the country’s innovation ecosystem.
Dr Aminu Maida and other NCC officials noted the importance of collaboration between government institutions in promoting digital transformation across Nigeria.
The Commission reiterated that it would continue to support initiatives that encourage innovation and improve access to technology-driven solutions.
Smart Education, Digital Skills Push
During the visit to the Enugu Smart School Initiative, the NCC delegation observed how technology is being used to enhance teaching and learning processes.
The Commission said integrating digital tools into education remains important in preparing young Nigerians with the skills needed for the future workforce.
The NCC emphasised that developing digital talent is essential to sustaining Nigeria’s growth in the technology sector.
