The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) has advanced its strategic mobilization for universal healthcare by concluding a vital engagement series with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) under the Lagos State Civil Society Partnership (LACSOP).
This targeted initiative focuses on the operational rollout of the Executive Order on Mandatory Social Health Insurance, a policy designed to guarantee that every resident gains access to a baseline of reliable medical care.
Community Leaders Convene in Yaba
The final phase of this collaborative campaign gathered key community stakeholders and grassroots representatives from six major Local Government Areas, including Eti-Osa, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, Mushin, Somolu, and Surulere. Hosted at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR) in Yaba, the forum served as a strategic briefing to align localized advocacy efforts with the state’s broader healthcare mandates.
Strengthening the ILERA EKO Initiative
According to an official statement released by LASHMA via its social channels, the forum was vital for bridging the gap between state policy and grassroots execution.
“The session provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration with key community stakeholders and reinforce the collective commitment to expanding health insurance coverage through ILERA EKO, ensuring more Lagos residents have access to affordable and quality healthcare.”
By leveraging the grassroots network of LACSOP, the agency aims to aggressively drive registration for the ILERA EKO health scheme, positioning affordable, high-quality medical insurance as a fundamental right for all Lagosians.
