Lagos assures former owners of schools quick return

Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Education, Mrs. Olabisi Ariyo has assured the former owners of Metropolitan and Isolo Secondary Schools in Lagos that the process of returning their schools to them is being properly looked into.

Ariyo gave the assurance while addressing the former owners, who staged a protest, led by Mrs. Roseline Ololo, to the seat of government at the Secretariat, Alausa.

While noting that the process has been delayed due to internal squabbling within the family, she implored them to exercise patience, stressing that there are due process that must be painstakingly followed in returning schools to former owners.

Mrs. Ariyo declared that the present administration is already looking into the issue of Mrs. Ololo, adding that the process would be fast-tracked in order to ensure amicable resolution of the issue at hand.

The Permanent Secretary emphasized that government will accord justice and fairness to Lagosians regardless of their religious or ethnic background, stressing that government is mindful of the age and health of the proprietress and will do everything possible to be fair.

She, therefore, appealed to the protesting youths to be peaceful as government will leave no stone unturned to address the issue.
