The Director General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Omolola Oloworaran, held a high-level consultative meeting with the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, earlier today.
The visit focused on synchronizing the pension sector with the Federal Government’s overarching strategy for macroeconomic stability and infrastructure development.
Strategic Collaboration
The meeting served to reaffirm the ongoing partnership between the Ministry and PenCom. Both leaders discussed critical measures to strengthen Nigeria’s pension system, ensuring it remains a secure and transparent vehicle for retirement savings.
Capital Mobilisation
Central to the talks was the objective of deepening long-term domestic capital mobilisation. The DG and the Minister explored ways to better align pension reforms with President Bola Tinubu’s economic stabilisation and growth agenda, aiming to utilize pension assets to drive productivity and national prosperity.
“The discussions was centered on strengthening Nigeria’s pension system and aligning reforms with the broader economic growth agenda,” a statement which was posted on x.
