The Federal Government on Thursday officially flagged off the distribution of Presidential Emergency Food and Nutrition items in Kebbi State, marking a significant step in the administration’s ongoing strategy to tackle food insecurity across the country.
The initiative, which commenced on February 12, 2026, is part of a broad social protection framework designed to provide immediate relief to vulnerable households and cushion the economic hardships currently being felt by many Nigerians.
This initiative will only not be a one-off event but a sustained effort which is to strengthen social protection and cushion the hardship faced by vulnerable Nigerians.
As of today, the exercise remains ongoing across various local government areas to ensure that the nutritional needs of the most at-risk populations are met.
