The newly appointed Executive Secretary of the Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA), Dr. Victoria Egunjobi, has officially assumed her role with a clarion call to staff to prioritize teamwork, transparency, and professional excellence. Addressing employees during her first official engagement at the Agency’s headquarters in Alausa, Ikeja, Dr. Egunjobi emphasized that the agency’s success in safeguarding the health of Lagosians depends entirely on a unified workforce.

A Vision for Collective Success

During the meeting held at Tisco Plaza, the Executive Secretary underscored that every member of the organization, regardless of their rank, plays a vital role in the agency’s regulatory mission. She noted that individual differences must be set aside to foster a harmonious working environment that focuses on the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery.

“We cannot achieve our goals if we don’t work as a team,” Dr. Egunjobi stated. “There is a need for us to put aside our individual differences and work together as a family, irrespective of our backgrounds or levels in the service. The man at the gate is as important as the person in the office who treats the file. We are here to complement one another in a bid to render service to a multitude of Lagosians.”

Commitment to Welfare and Open Governance

Beyond fostering unity, the new HEFAMAA boss pledged to operate an open-door policy, promising to listen to the concerns of all staff members to ensure everyone feels a sense of belonging. Dr. Egunjobi further assured the team that staff welfare would be a top priority under her leadership. However, she balanced this promise with a firm charge to the employees to remain diligent and transparent in their duties, warning that the integrity of health regulation cannot be compromised.

Building on a Legacy of Excellence

Welcoming the new head, the Director of Inspection and Monitoring, Dr. Olayinka Daniel, described the Agency as fortunate to be led by a thoroughbred professional. He expressed confidence that Dr. Egunjobi would build upon the high standards of professionalism established by her predecessor, Dr. Abiola Idowu. Dr. Daniel concluded by assuring the Executive Secretary of the unalloyed cooperation of the entire staff to ensure a successful tenure.

A Seasoned Hand at the Helm

Dr. Victoria Egunjobi brings over two decades of experience in the Lagos State Public Service to her new role. A seasoned Public Health Physician, she most recently served as the Director of Disease Control at the Lagos State Ministry of Health. Her appointment by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the regulatory oversight of health facilities across the state.
