Court Grants Bail To Prof Zainab Duke Over Assault On Police Officer

Professor Zainab Duke-Abiola, has been granted bail by a court in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital in the case of assault on a police officer.

The bail was on the condition that the defendant must present a surety residing in Abuja, a rank of a director, and must own a property in Abuja.

The defendant is expected to visit the Police every Monday, till November 1, 2022.

MAP News reports that the professor was arrested by the security operatives after she ordered her domestic staff to beat her orderly, Inspector Teju Moses following her refusal to carry out domestic chores – an activity outside the confine of her duty as a police officer.

The physical assault on Inspector Moses made her sustained injury on her face.
