The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, and the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, met with IMF First Deputy Managing Director Dan Katz and World Bank President Ajay Banga.

According to the CBN, the discussions focused on Nigeria’s economic priorities beyond stabilisation, with attention shifting towards strengthening financial markets, mobilising capital and creating conditions for sustainable growth.

The meetings reflect Nigeria’s stated intention to build on its macroeconomic stabilisation efforts by pursuing policies aimed at attracting investment and supporting long-term economic growth.

Strengthening financial markets and mobilising capital are key areas of focus as the country seeks to create an environment that supports investment and sustainable economic development.
