The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its timetable for the conduct of primary elections ahead of the 2026 legislative bye-elections in four states and elections in four State House of Assembly constituencies recently restored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The party made this known in a notice issued to its affected state chapters and shared on its official X account.

Four Constituencies Restored

According to the APC, INEC has restored four previously suppressed State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi states.

The affected constituencies are Abraka, Isoko North II and Ughelli South II in Delta State, as well as Yagba West II in Kogi State.

The party consequently notified its chapters in both states of the planned primary elections to select its candidates for the restored seats.

Bye-Elections in Gombe, Bauchi, Delta, Kano

The APC also announced plans for primary elections ahead of legislative bye-elections in Gombe, Bauchi, Delta and Kano states.

The constituencies listed by the party are Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe State; Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies in Bauchi State; Udu State Constituency in Delta State; and Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano State.

The party said the timetable covers the various activities leading to the selection of its candidates for the affected legislative seats.

APC Notifies Affected Chapters

In the notice, the APC directed its chapters in the affected states to take note of the arrangements and prepare for the primary elections.

The party said the timetable was released for the conduct of primaries for both the INEC-restored State House of Assembly constituencies and the 2026 legislative bye-elections.

The move comes as political parties prepare to field candidates for the legislative contests across the affected constituencies.
