The high-level assembly brought together Ambassadors and Heads of Mission in the nation’s capital to forge a unified front against increasingly complex global health threats.

During the session, delegates analyzed the current landscape of Nigeria’s health journey, acknowledging both the significant progress made and the hurdles that remain. Furthermore, the assembly highlighted Nigeria’s growing influence in health security, specifically its role in hosting the 5th High-Level Ministerial Meeting on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in Abuja. As the world faces the silent pandemic of drug-resistant infections, the WHO and its diplomatic partners emphasized that health security and preparedness in an interconnected world are no longer optional, but essential for global stability.
