UR4Africa Project, Inc. is set to host a three-day art exhibition and fundraising event in Lagos, aiming to raise $25,000 (approximately ₦34 million) to expand access to quality arts education across government schools. The highly anticipated event will take place at the ARTLab Gallery in Ikeja GRA, spanning from June 12 to 14, 2026, with the main public exhibition scheduled for Saturday, June 13.
The initiative seeks to bridge a critical gap in the academic system, addressing the reality that many students in public schools still lack access to structured creative education. Organisers have confirmed that the upcoming gathering will bring together a vibrant community of artists, performers, and cultural practitioners to showcase creative works. Every financial contribution and art purchase made during the event will directly fund and scale the impact of the Public Art Africa programme.
A Confluence of Culture and Impact
Attendees can look forward to a rich, immersive cultural experience that goes beyond standard gallery viewings. The three-day itinerary features an extensive art exhibition, live performances, fashion showcases, and film screenings. To directly support the local creative ecosystem, selected artworks will be available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds channeled back into participating creatives and the foundation’s school initiatives.
Highlighting the transformative vision behind the initiative, Ajayi, a spokesperson for the organisation, emphasised the long-term impact of investing in the next generation of creatives.
“This is more than an event, it’s a moment. A moment where creativity meets opportunity and young people are given the space to share their visions for our future.”
Investing in Nigeria’s Creative Economy
This initiative directly aligns with UR4Africa’s broader mission to equip young Nigerians with viable creative skills, positioning them to thrive within the country’s rapidly growing creative economy. By establishing sustainable, school-based programmes, the non-profit organisation is building a pipeline of talent that can actively contribute to Nigeria’s cultural and economic landscape.
Members of the public, art enthusiasts, and corporate bodies are invited to join, attend, support, and invest in the future of Nigerian youth.
