The Lagos State Government has presented financial assistance cheques to an additional 300 residents through the Eko Cares Programme. The distribution, held recently at the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement (OPL&CE), underscores the administration’s focus on social protection and inclusive governance.

While addressing the recipients, the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Engr. Sholabomi Shasore, characterized the initiative as a tangible result of the promises made by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat.

Shasore, representing the Special Adviser on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, noted that the programme is designed to provide essential relief to indigent residents across the state. She encouraged those present to remain proactive in accessing government-led opportunities.

“The financial assistance programme is meant to bring succour to the indigent residents. I urge you to take advantage of all the State Government has made available for the residents of the State. It’s your right,” Shasore said.

The Permanent Secretary further explained that the Eko Cares Programme is a reflection of the current administration’s commitment to people-centered policies. She concluded the event by advising the 300 beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly to improve their living conditions and support the sustainable livelihoods outlined in their initial applications.
