#TechSummitOgun: Making Ogun State active technological gateway in Nigeria

A one-day tech summit titled Disruptive Innovations: Where Are We? will berth in Abeokuta, Ogun State on 18th January 2018.

The event will be hosted by Vervetree Global and it seeks to serve as a platform for enabling sustainable engagement of making Ogun State an active technological gateway in Nigeria.

At present, Ogun is home to twenty one tertiary institutions, 14 Universities, five Polytechnics, and two Colleges of Education. The state has the highest concentration of tertiary institutions in Nigeria and houses thousands of viable talent/human capital, and with the right mentorship and support, it may become the primary place for potential startup founders and business entrepreneurs, driving innovation in the State.

Though the summit will hold for just one day, there will be four keynote addresses, sixteen panellists having four different panels.

The summit has a number of exciting keynote speakers who are expected to dictate the theme of their respective panels, share their ideas and experience about the start-up and innovation sector in Nigeria alongside their challenges.

Address one has education as the prime focus, and it will be promoting Ogun State as a technological hub in Nigeria. The second address will focus on Start-ups and how to grow a fully sustainable technology start-up. The third address will focus on challenges facing financing of start-ups in Nigeria; while fourth address will focus on what works betweeen pitching the traditional andsocial media.

Stakeholders expected at the Summit include founders and partners of leading Nigerian start-ups, representatives of government, operators of innovation hubs, entrepreneurs, investors, private sector companies, telecommunication and data service providers, academic institutions and others within the technological ecosystem in Nigeria.
