The “Peoples Manifesto”, a Social Contract for Political Accountability and Charter of Demand has been launched in Ogun. The 21-page document was compiled by the Civil Society Coalition on Sustainable Development (CSCSD) and the Transition Monitoring Group( TMG) Ogun State with immediate endorsement by three leading gubernatorial candidates.
The event which took place at the main Auditorium, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Oke Mosan Abeokuta witnessed the presence of representatives of various segment of the Society including NCWC, NYCN, CDC, FIWON, CAN, Muslim Groups, FOMWAN, OAIC, TAMPAN, Professional Bodies, the Academia, Trade Unions including NUJ, NLC, PTA, NULGE and the CSO movement from Ogun, Oyo and Lagos States

In attendance were also the Chairman, BoT of CSCSD and Director JDPC, Rev Fr. John Patrick Ngoyi, National Coordinator CSCSD, Dr Tola Winjobi, National Coordinator TMG, Dr Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi represented by Ogun State TMG Coordinator, Sina Adefolahan Representative of Petrolex Industry, Mrs Kemi Sokenu-Morris and representative of DFID/PERL, Mrs Bisi Ogogo and State Coordinator of Ogun CSCSD, Ms Moji Akinsanya.
Presenting the document, Prof Mrs Helen Bodunde of FUNAB Abeokuta noted that the Manifesto represented the needs of the people aggregated after a successful household survey across the state and three senatorial town Hall meetings.
Earlier, in his Welcome address, Rev Fr Ngoyi noted that the Global Sustainable Development Goals forms the bedrock of the Manifesto and Charter of Demand and urged the people not to fold their arms after the elections but used the Document to engage elected executive for Accountability.
All the Speakers at the event commended the initiative of CSCSD and TMG expressing hope that the Document will bring about quality service delivery to the people of Ogun State by the incoming administration.

The Gubernatorial Candidates of African Democratic Party, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, that of Africa Alliance Congress, Mrs Martins and Alliance for Democracy, Mr Olowokere endorsed the people Manifesto and promised to implement the content if voted into office.
The Duo of Tola Adenekan, Coordinator, Freedom of information Network and Mrs Seun Davies, General Manager, Smash FM 88.1 Abeokuta anchored the event which was covered by prominent media houses.
