The Nigeria Police Force has released emergency and complaint hotlines for residents ahead of the Osun State Governorship Election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
The Force said the designated numbers are to help members of the public report emergencies, security concerns and election-related incidents before, during and after the poll.
In a post shared on its official X account on Thursday, the police urged residents to promptly report incidents that could threaten the peaceful conduct of the election.
Police Reaffirm Commitment to Peaceful Poll
Following an address by CP Samuel Erale Etaifo, Commissioner of Police in charge of the Osun election, the Force Public Relations Officer reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to a peaceful, secure, transparent and credible election.
The police spokesperson said the Force is prepared for the election, with personnel deployed across the state to protect citizens, voters, electoral officials, corps members and other stakeholders before, during and after the polls.
