Nigeria senate reschedules 2018 budget debate for November 28

The Nigerian Senate has rescheduled its planned debate on the proposed 2018 budget submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari till November 28.

The debate was scheduled to hold on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Senate President Bukola Saraki announced this at Tuesday’s plenary where he explained that the decision is as a result of the need to pass the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, MTEF this week before focusing on the budget.

The debate is now to hold on November 28th and 29th while debate on the revenue parameters of agencies of the Federal Government is scheduled for Thursday 30th.

Also, Saraki read an executive communication from President Muhammadu Buhari withholding assent to two bills; Chartered Institute of Treasury Management bill and Federal University of Wukari bill due to some basic details in the legislative drafting.
