The Media Career Development Network has launched Nigeria Media Monitor, a weekly digital publication focused on tracking, explaining, documenting, and interrogating developments in Nigeria media and journalism industry.
The publication is designed to provide journalists, media professionals, students, researchers, and communication stakeholders with weekly updates on media trends, situations happening behind the scene, newsroom innovation, fact-checking, and media advocacy.
Sections of the Publication
- Editor’s Note – Editorial reflections on media and national issues.
- News – Reports on media events and industry activities.
- People – Profiles of notable media professionals and advocates.
- Flashback – Career stories and historical media experiences.
- Fellowship – Updates on fellowships, grants, and training opportunities, factchecks, etc.
- AI Insight – Discussions on artificial intelligence and newsroom innovation.
The maiden edition featured stories including: “Media Leaders meet to Reset, Restart, Restore,” “Exemplary careers in media rights advocacy,” “My Guardian employment, reporting story – Baze University VC,” “Muneer Yakub Next-Gen Fact-Check, OSINT Fellowship for Students,” and the “How to communicate AI strategy to workforce”
