The Lagos State Government is currently fast-tracking the rehabilitation of the Eti-Osa/Lekki/Epe Expressway to improve travel times and road safety for residents and businesses along the busy corridor.
The project, which is being executed in six distinct sections on the Lekki–Victoria Island bound lane, has already seen the completion of three key segments ahead of schedule.
Efficiency in Project Delivery
According to the latest progress report, the state government has successfully completed 4.51 kilometers of roadwork across three sections. While these areas were originally scheduled for a 23-day construction window, they were delivered in 16 days.

Chevron to Igbo-Efon: 1.06km (Completed in 6 days)

Igbo-Efon to Jakande: 1.57km (Completed in 8 days)

Jakande to Chisco: 1.88km (Completed in 9 days)
Comprehensive Infrastructure Upgrades
The rehabilitation effort extends beyond simple road resurfacing. The scope of work includes the restoration of drainage systems to prevent flooding, the strengthening of structurally weak road sections, and the application of fresh asphalt.
To ensure long-term safety and visibility, the project also incorporates clear lane markings and the painting of kerbs. These measures are designed to enhance driving comfort and significantly reduce the daily commute for motorists.

The state government addressed the impact of the construction on daily life, noting that traffic management agencies are on-site to direct the flow of vehicles and minimize disruptions.
“The State Government acknowledges the temporary inconvenience experienced during construction and assures residents that all decisions are guided by urgency, empathy, and the long-term benefit of Lagosians,” the official stated.
