YIAGA implements the #WatchingTheVote project under her election program. Watching The Vote (WTV) project is a citizen led election observation initiative aimed at enhancing the integrity of elections in Nigeria using technological tools like SMS and evidence-based research methodology tools. The project is designed to promote credible elections and boost citizen’s confidence in the electoral process through the citizens’ oversight on elections throughout the electoral cycle. Job Title: WTV TRAINING MANAGER

Job description:
The #WTV Training officer serves as the project technical specialist with unique expertise on using evidence-based methodology like the Parallel Vote Tabulation for election observation. He / she will be primarily tasked with responsibility of managing the training needs and programs of the project. He/she will support the Project Director and team in project planning and execution of project activities. This will entail development of WTV manuals and training materials, facilitation of training sessions, management of WTV database, preparation of project activity reports, set-up of WTV information centre and development, packaging and distribution of WTV materials.
Key Qualifications/skills
- Possess a degree in law, social sciences, humanities or related field, experience of working on elections or democratic governance
- 3 years proven experience in Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) project implementation as a senior team member
- Excellent facilitation skills and workshop design
- Excellent knowledge of project management and development
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Excellent IT skills with good proficiency in MS Office
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Outstanding inter-personal and communication skills

The #WTV Zonal Program Officer will coordinate the implementation of the Watching The Vote project at the zonal level. The Zonal Program officer will support the Project Director and team in managing, processing and analysing zonal program and election data. He/she will be directly responsible for managing zonal WTV State Focal Points, supervisors and observers. He/she will also carry out responsibilities project activity reports, monitoring and evaluation, packaging and distribution of WTV materials.
Key Qualifications/skills

Job Title: WTV FINANCE OFFICER

Job description
The primary responsibility of the finance officer is project accounting and reporting. The finance officer will support budget preparation for the WTV projects, tracking funds disbursements, budget monitoring and monitor compliance with grant requirements as well as support the project’s finance and administrative requirements. The Finance Officer will post project expenses in the accounting system and work with other finance staff to keep track of staff field advances related to the project. He/she will also be tasked with supporting with project audits and compliance with the grant and local statutory requirements. Additional responsibilities will include training of project and operations teams on grant compliance requirements, financial technical backstopping for the project teams during field visits and logistical and administrative support.
Key Qualifications/skills
- A graduate degree in accounting, banking and finance or related field
- 5 years of experience as a finance officer in an NGO or in a similar position
- Sound knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
- Knowledge of donor financial regulations and policies
- Excellent level of competence in excel, MS word and computerized accounting packages like QuickBooks,
- Self-motivated and ability to work without close supervision
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal relations skills
- Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Good management and analytical skills

Job description
The primary responsibility of the WTV Media Officer is to ensure YIAGA’s WTV projects receives robust media coverage across the diverse traditional and new media platforms. He/she is tasked with coordinating project media activities in both traditional and social media platforms. He/she prepares and reviews press releases, tracks YIAGA WTV media activities, coordinates media briefs and project media activities. The media officer is tasked with fostering relationships with media outlets and personnel on behalf of YIAGA. The post also entails managing external communication for YIAGA – this primarily entails designing and dissemination of information about YIAGA, its projects and position on critical issues to the public. His/her role also entails developing a media and communications strategy and plan for the WTV project, communication protocols and coordinating implementation and compliance. Added roles will include preparation and dissemination of YIAGA newsletters, editing of YIAGA publications to be disseminated to the public as well as developing other materials and publications on WTV project.
Key Qualifications/skills
- Bachelor’s in Mass communication, journalism, public relations, social media or related field
- Requisite certification in journalism or media and communications
- Minimum 5 years working experience in the field of journalism or communications
- Fluent in English
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- An excellent working knowledge of basic IT tools, social media and all relevant applications relating to communications
- Sound knowledge of local and international media landscape
- Self-motivated and innovative
- Ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines
